Koehler wins three Gold Medals in major wine competition

Three Koehler wines were awarded Gold Medals at the 2010 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition.  The 2007 Syrah, Santa Ynez Valley, the 2007 Pinot Noir, Sta. Rita Hills, and the 2006 Magia Nera, Santa Ynez Valley, won the prestigious awards.  The 2007 Sangiovese Oak Savanna Vineyard, Santa Ynez Valley, won a Silver Medal.  All four of these wines are available for purchase in our tasting room, and can be ordered online.

Two 2007 Koehler Rhônes score 90 Points!

The Koehler 2007 Viognier was awarded 90 Points by Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, and the Koehler 2007 Syrah Estate received a 90 Point rating from Wine Enthusiast Magazine.  See the reviews on our Downloads page.  The Syrah remains available for purchase in our tasting room, and can be ordered online.

Koehler at the Santa Barbara Wine Festival

Many thanks to all who joined us on June 26 in beautiful Santa Barbara for the Santa Barbara Wine Festival.  About seventy wineries participated in this very popular annual festival, held at the picturesque Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History. We look forward to the 2011 Festival.

Koehler appoints Olivier Rousset head winemaker

March 2, 2009.  Koehler Winery announced the appointment of French-born winemaker Olivier Rousset to head the team crafting their wines.  In accepting the appointment, Olivier remarked that he "is excited about the diversity and quality of the fruit grown on the Koehler estate" and looks forward to creating and achieving great wines here.  Click here to read Olivier's biography.

Wine Spectator rates two Koehler Syrahs

Wine Spectator reviewed the 2006 Koehler Syrah Reserve and rated it 92 Points.  The highly-respected publication noted that it is "simply delicious to drink now."  The same publication also rated the 2006 Syrah Estate 89 Points.  See the reviews on our Downloads page.  The 2006 Syrah Reserve is available for purchase in our tasting room, and can be ordered online.

Food & Wine picks Koehler wines for Wine Guide 2008

Our 2005 Viognier, Santa Ynez Valley, and our 2005 Pinot Noir, Santa Rita Hills, appeared in Food & Wine's Wine Guide 2008.  The Guide noted:

Koehler Viognier / 2005 / Santa Ynez Valley:  ***$$ This Viognier enchants with aromatic peach blossom, subtle marzipan and fine mineral flavors.

Koehler Pinot Noir / 2005 / Santa Rita Hills:  ***$$$ Intoxicating aromas of earth and savory herbs waft through a pool of wild red berries.

"The Wine Rack" reports Koehler "was the star" of a recent Santa Ynez Valley wine tasting trip

Wine blog "The Wine Rack" reviewed four Koehler wines tasted during a July 2008 tasting trip and remarked that the winery cats "are very cool".  Click here to read the article.

Koehler strikes gold in major wine competition

Two Koehler wines were accorded excellent recognition at the 2008 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition.  The 2005 Magia Nera, which is a 67% Sangiovese and 33% Cabernet Sauvignon blend, won Gold Best of Class.  The 2005 Chardonnay Reserve won a Gold Medal.
